Godot Game Jam Template
Every time I start a project, I have to get the same stuff up and running. A title screen. A credits screen. A halfway decent options screen. Setting up screen fades and a music management system.
No more! I'm just going to copy and paste this template and start from there. And you can too. For free. But if you ask me, it's worth a sandwich.
Included is a Godot project folder with a title screen, options that save themselves when edited (though not on itch.io), basic screen fades, and so on. There's other stuff in there for doing things in my unique (sloppy) style, but you can safely ignore them and build your game your way. You'll probably want to do all this stuff yourself in your own way for your big commercial game, but this can save you a few hours in a game jam game and give you a reasonably polished result.
All included assets free for use. The song is from YouFulca (wingless-seraph.net); be sure to credit him if you don't swap it out for something else.
Note: the buttons are set to appear or disappear based on the platform (e.g. there is an "exit program" button on the title screen that doesn't exist in the web build). If you add the custom features "gotm" or "itch" to your web build, the buttons will self-tweak some more based on what I've observed working or not working in those platforms.
